Wanting vs. Having

Having money is really only good for one thing: allowing you to be creative enough to share your unique talents with the world.—SL Taylor

Wanting vs. Having

Every time I start to say I want something, I stop myself. Because “wanting” signifies lack and if you focus on lack well, you get more lack. So instead, I try to phrase my desire as, “I allow myself to have” whatever it is that I desire.

The question becomes would I rather want to have something or just have it. I think the answer is pretty clear. Most of us would already rather just have it. Allowing yourself to have also opens up your mind. It helps you to believe that you really can have what you desire.

But when it comes to prosperity and abundance most of us tend to fall short of this belief. We can’t seem to allow ourselves to have. Most of us spend our time saying I want more money. Instead of believing that we already have it and it’s on its way.

So how do get to the “allowing yourself to have” when you don’t have it yet? You have to feel as though you already have it. See yourself with money. Find other ways to feel abundance. Abundance isn’t just about money. Allow yourself an abundance of friends, good health, and love. This will help you to feel prosperous already.

Stop trying so hard. Take creative action and relax. When you take creative action, you’re doing your part. The Universe or Source will comply. You just need to open yourself up to allowing good things to come into your life. Once you’re able to accept some good things, more will follow.

Here are a few steps to get you going in the right direction and start taking some creative action.

Schedule your regular payments. If you have any payments that are the same each month, like a car or insurance, put those on an auto draft. That way the money comes out before you can miss it. Also when payments are on auto draft it will make you feel more prosperous. It’s very liberating not to have to worry about a bill, even if it’s just one.

If you normally buy the bargain brand or less expensive brand of an item then just once, buy the more expensive brand and don’t blink an eye. Say to yourself I can afford it and I deserve it as you pay for it.

Now I’m not suggesting you buy the most expensive of everything and wreck your whole budget. Just do it with one item once in awhile and it will go a long way to making you feel prosperous.

Also, stop announcing to the world how bad you have it, or how bad things are in general. Remember what you put your attention on you attract. So only put your attention on things you really desire to acquire.

Shop at the best stores but shop the mark down and clearance racks. Most high-end stores have huge clearance sales. You can get designer clothes for about the same price as you’d pay at Target. Add a piece or two at a time to your wardrobe until most of your clothes are high-end designer labels. When you wear them you’ll feel prosperous. And feeling leads to becoming.

Take time to notice how much abundance there is in nature. Spring is leaf season in Florida. I just raked my yard and had about 20 big bags of leaves. And I could have a least 20 more. Believe me, there are no shortages when it comes to leaves. Believe that you posses the same energy that created all those leaves. You can create abundance as well.

Take time to give back. Karma really does exist. Karma states that what you send out into the universe will be returned in kind. So if you give of yourself to others that gesture will be returned and others will give of themselves to you.

Lastly, be happy and grateful for all that you have right now. When you attract abundance, it will not make you happy unless you’re already happy. Money doesn’t change who you are it just enhances that which you already are. So if you’re miserable now, you won’t be happy when you have money. You have to be happy and grateful first then the rest will fall into place.
