Our mind functions in such a way that we may be misunderstanding our intentions. The basis of the Law of Attraction and the power of the mind rely on our ability and our intentions. The powerful energy that develops from positive thinking and feeling is the foundation of affirmative action. However, our intentions can go unnoticed if our level of awareness is low, or we neglect to know what we want. Our common senses stimulate the conscious mind much of the time. We may see something we want, or hear about a thing that interests us. The sense of taste, smell, and touch also cause us to think and feel.
Often, our conscious mind inadvertently states that it wants or needs something, and our subconscious gets the message. This sets everything in motion to reach the goal (the intention). Our subconscious mind believes everything we tell it, and it sets out to obtain, working with the Law of Attraction. It perceives what we do not want to have or to happen as an intention as well. It lacks the ability to discern the differences in what we intend (its role is to make it happen period). Regardless of how minor or petty the desire may be, the subconscious mind sees it as a goal. In addition, our mind reminds us constantly of our past intentions, we consciously and/or unconsciously set forth.
Every time that you think that you should do something, have to do something, or must take an action, this is because of your intention. Say, for example, that you suppose one day that you need a new car. That is your intention; to get a new car and your subconscious mind will continuously remind you that it is a goal. Maybe you are watching television and see something on a commercial. You may think I would like to have that, or that is what I need. Your subconscious recognizes this as something you want (as an intention to get or have). It may seem like scarcely a passing thought but to the subconscious, it has, meaning! Have you ever wondered why you persistently think that you have to, must, or should do something?
Imagine that you do not want your lawn to die. Your subconscious recognizes the intention to keep it alive. You will hear yourself think (receive ideas) “I should set the sprinkler.” “I should fertilize.” Now if you say to yourself that you want your lawn to stay, green it is the same intention to the subconscious, and thus you may hear the exact same stuff. Usually though when the intention is set toward what you want, you naturally take the appropriated actions. In other words, you do what you should without a constant reminder. Although you still have the thoughts, you are less resistant to achieving the goal (intention). In addition, what we tell other people, our subconscious mind sees as an intention.
The great thing about the subconscious is that it is within our control, more so sometimes than the conscious mind. If we are decisive, we can change our intention and stop receiving ideas, options, and opportunities toward a previous intention. We can make a definitive list of what we need and want. We can also be watchful of when we use the words want and need. We can observe that ice cream on the commercial looks yummy without thinking we want some. The things we bring into our life are a direct result of our thinking. Whatever we feed into our subconscious mind is going to return to us in the form of ideas and opportunities to achieve.
Your mind will constantly chatter at you to do something because you have set forth millions of intentions. If you can recognize when you are making an intention, you can correct irrelevant goals. You may think of buying the latest technical gadget, instantly, (think you needed or would like to have it). You can literally say, “What am I thinking?” I hope this article gives you something to consider and helps you see that you can change your mind. In the book “The Secret,” they state something like this. The Law of Attraction contains a time-period (it is not instant). Therefore, we have the opportunity to change the events before they occur.
In conclusion, you have the ability to let loose of preset intentions or even pursue them, if you will recognize when they are coming forth. Each time that you conceive that you should, have to, or must do something it is because of an intention. Your inner mind lacks the power to let go of reaching a goal until you give it permission. It never quits or gives up on even the smallest idea until you tell it to. Awareness is of the highest concern if you want to utilize the Law of Attraction to your benefit. Your mind is potent beyond measure!
