Resistance of the Truth

“The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.” -William James

Resistance of the Truth

Stop for a moment and just think about this question before you answer. “How do feel when someone or some group opposes your beliefs?” Now I have no idea what you answered. But I’d venture to guess that most answered anywhere from uneasy at one end of the scale to a feeling of actually being threatened at the other.

If someone or group with opposing beliefs gets what they want then the feeling is that you’ve lost. There’s just no way that you will get what you want. This type of reaction comes from resistance of truth.

The truth is that you’ve lost nothing what they have probably isn’t what you really want any way. Let’s use the hotly debated topic of gay marriage for instance.

Let’s just suppose that you’re vehemently opposed to gay marriage. But that a nationwide law passes to allow it despite your best efforts. You most likely feel that you’ve lost a huge battle. You may even be angry or feel threatened in some way. And at the extreme, you may resort to violence.

But the core truth is you’ve lost absolutely nothing. All of your rights are still in tact. You can still marry whom ever you choose. You still get the same tax breaks. You can raise your children as you see fit. You still have the same job, live in the same home, and drive the same car. You can still make your own choices and choose anything you desire. You’ve lost absolutely nothing.

Against God

Once you wrap your thoughts around you’ve lost nothing then the argument becomes homosexuality is against God, against nature. Once again, this is simply resistance of the truth.

Your resistance to the truth is because you’ve focused so much attention on certain thoughts that you have allowed these thoughts to develop into beliefs. You have also tapped into the thoughts of others who have focused so much that their thoughts have become beliefs as well.

And so in resisting the truth you have resisted God, Source, Universal Collective Intelligence, what ever you choose to call the energy that encompasses all of us. The very truth is that, God, Source, Universal Collective Intelligence opposes nothing, and accepts us all as we are and is the ultimate Allower.

Opposition to things usually comes from not being able to feel this acceptance because you choose to disallow yourself to feel it. You have been resisting for so long that you have buried these feelings so deeply that you may not even realize that they exist.

This acceptance exists for all of us as pure unconditional love and well-being. We all have the capacity to feel this unending stream of unconditional love and well-being that flows to us every second of every day. All we have to do is allow it.

Surrender

And you allow it by surrendering to it. Surrender means to give up, to stop fighting, simply to say, “I quit.” I quit allowing resistance to rule me. I quit focusing so much negativity on things that they become untruths and phantom beliefs. I stop fighting the feelings of well-being that flow to me and allow them to take me over.

Once you’re willing to surrender, you immediately see the truth. You immediately feel the unconditional love and well-being that is meant only for you. You find that you no longer need to oppose others and that you can allow all.

By surrendering, you lift a very heavy burden off your shoulders. Your perception quickly changes from opposition to acceptance. And you soon find that the turmoil and drama that once mattered to you is no longer something you crave.

You are now allowing the God, Source, Universal Collective Intelligence, the energy that encompasses all of us to be your driving force. And through it all you’ve discovered the real you. The YOU, you were meant to be.

The YOU, who has love and compassion for his earthly brothers and sisters. The YOU, who only wants happiness for everyone. And the YOU, who only has happiness in their lives.

This is the YOU that exists deep inside you. The YOU, you can and will become when you learn to surrender to the resistance and begin to allow everyone their own choices.
